Join us for Natural Internet presented by Ron Kustrup

“We're still in the first minutes of the first day of the Internet revolution.” - Scott Cook

We will be providing the audience with a station for 3D painting in VR goggles, free food, and music for you to enjoy as you walk through our gallery. Come one and come all, this event is open to the public!

Dealing with the representation of technology and basic natural instincts, we welcome you to the KIND Institute to celebrate the grassroots evolution of industry and machines.

"Natural Internet" hearkens back to the enlightenment era, the industrial revolution, and the internet revolution, analyzing the direction of technology and its flow towards immersion, and calling back films like “The Matrix” and Jean Baudrillard's critical theories on the simulation and the simulacra.

Internationally recognized artist Ron Kustrup ties in the theme of tradition as he presents American culture evolving as the norms of industry and internet change over time.

The art of appropriation, while present, is used carefully throughout the installation as part of presenting animalistic instinct as the root cause of invention. Similar to how raw earth materials inevitably fall through the machine of industry, ending up orchestrated into a random piece of hardware like a telephone.
